Dear Lord,
It's such a hectic day,
with little time to stop and pray.
For life's been anything but calm,
since You called me to be a mom.
Running errands, matching socks,
Building dreams with stacking blocks.
Cooking, cleaning and finding shoes,
Fitting lids on bottled bugs,
wiping tears and giving hugs.
A stack of last week's mail to read -
where's the quiet time I need?
Yet, when I steal a moment, Lord,
at the sink or ironing board,
to ask the blessing of Your Grace,
I see then, in my little one's face,
that You have blessed me all the while,
and I stoop to kiss that precious smile.

Good evening..... I found this on the internet as I was browsing for words or something that could represent what I was feeling. And voila! This is it! Now let me share it with you. This is something that truly pictures what's going on inside every mom's heart, I guess. Things that a mom wants to say but just can't find the right words to make it sound beautiful, instead of making it sound like complaining. And yes, I wept every time I read it... So true...
By the way, I've just had some questions about the word 'stoop' found in the final line. Some asked whether I misspelled it, from 'stop' to 'stoop'. Well, I guess the time has come for us to enrich our vocabulary. The word 'stoop' which means 'bend down or over' was used for the first time before the 12th century. It came from the word 'stoupen' in Middle English or 'stupian' in Old English. For complete information about the meaning of the word 'stoop', you can read it here. Ok, thanks for reading and asking and have a great reading day!!
